Blood Pressure Check

Free NHS blood pressure check. No appointment needed. Walk in during opening hours.

High blood pressure often has no obvious symptoms, which is why regular checks matter. One in three adults in the UK has high blood pressure without knowing it. A quick check at the pharmacy takes under five minutes and could prompt treatment that reduces your risk of heart attack or stroke.

Our pharmacist team can carry out a reading using an upper arm cuff and give you the result on the spot. If your pressure is within a healthy range, great. If it is elevated, we will advise you on next steps and suggest you follow up with your GP.

No appointment is needed. Just walk in during opening hours. If you have a home monitor and are unsure how to read your results, bring it along and we will help you interpret them.

Who it's for

Adults aged 40 and over registered with an NHS GP. We also check anyone with concerns about their blood pressure regardless of age.

What to expect

  1. Brief arm cuff measurement, usually under five minutes.
  2. A reading of your systolic and diastolic pressure is given on the spot.
  3. If your reading is high we advise you to see your GP and can note the result for you to take along.
  4. Lifestyle advice is provided where appropriate.
